Overall, Tobin makes a workable Pegasus Knight, but there are better options for him. Should Tobin become the party’s villager Pegasus Knight, there’s a lot less of a sacrifice. Should Faye become a Pegasus Knight, the team will lose some vital utility up until Tatiana comes in around Act 4. Faye learns Physic, Rescue, and Anew (albeit very late) as a Cleric, which are highly useful spells. However, compared to Faye, there’s much less of an opportunity cost if Tobin chooses Pegasus Knight. Tobin does have slightly better skill and luck growths, making him better at achieving critical hits-which can be easy with the Blessed Lance’s naturally high crit rate. Kliff also has better defense, when Tobin’s naturally low defense growth gets shot down to a 25% as a Pegasus Knight, making bows much more troublesome for Tobin. Just like Kliff, his attack growth gets knocked down to 25% and can salvage his damage output with the effective damage that comes from Falcon Knight’s Banish, Blessed Lance, and Ridersbane, but Kliff’s higher speed growth allows for him to reach doubling thresholds better than Tobin can. The Ridersbane comes in at the very end of Act 1 and doesn’t see use until Act 3, and by that time Tobin’s high base but low growth in speed may not catch up with him as the game progresses. He can resist weight of the Steel Lance, but its weight is only 1 so it isn’t much of a problem. On top of that, the Iron Lance obtained in the early game has no weight yet is weaker than Fire due to targeting defense rather than resistance. He’s the only villager that’s able to keep his doubling potential as a Mage even when weighed down by Fire.Īs a Pegasus Knight, his base speed is-in a way-wasted as he may or may not receive a boost upon promotion, depending on whether he gains a speed level before the Thieves’ Shrine. Tobin’s high base speed is his secret weapon to dominating the early game. Regardless, he can rely on effective damage weaponry to relieve him of his strength issues. However, he may struggle reaching KO thresholds with his low attack. Pegasus Knight patches up his base speed problem and will maintain a high speed stat throughout the game with his high growth. Overall, Kliff makes for a fairly decent Pegasus Knight that’s very comparable to Clair.

Also, if you choose to evolve the Ridersbane to Rhompaia, Kliff makes very good use of Dragonhaze due to his high speed stat. Kliff will appreciate the effective damage from the Ridersbane and there are plenty of Cavalier enemies in Alm’s path to use it with. On the other hand, Alm’s party gets the Ridersbane and your Villager Pegasus Knight probably makes the best use of it.

On top of that, the Blessed Lance comes around mid-Act 3, which can stack with Banish to patch up his damage output against Terrors, despite their scarcity in Alm’s path.

However, upon promotion to Falcon Knight, he will get access to Banish which gives him an extra +10 damage to Terrors. He’ll be able to double/resist doubling even the fastest of enemies in the late game like Mogals and Gargoyles, but his damage output may be on the lower end. Pegasus Knight on top of Kliff’s naturally high speed growth will help him maintain a sky-high speed stat (getting bumped up to 65%, 2nd highest in the game right behind Clair), but his attack growth will get knocked down to 25%. Regardless, a Pegasus Knight promotion patches that right up. Their base stats are also surprisingly similar, but Kliff’s base speed is notably much lower. At the cost of lower attack and luck, Kliff has higher defense than Clair. However, Clair does have overall higher growths than Kliff. Kliff’s performance as a Pegasus Knight is comparable to Clair, but he does have a slight upper hand against her due to his earlier join time allowing for him to build up his stats before she joins.

Pegasus Knight is a fine choice for Kliff and his stats line up with the class fairly well. Villager Pegasus Knight (Guide/Analysis) KliffĪt 2 base speed, Kliff desperately needs a class to bump up his speed to fix up his early game performance, and thankfully Pegasus Knight helps him out in that area.
